How to install Microsoft Office for free

Resolution or Steps

If you are a current Hennepin Tech student or faculty you can install Microsoft Office for free on up to five devices, including phones and tablets for free. You will lose access when you are no longer taking classes or working at Hennepin Tech. 

1. Copy this link and paste it into your web browser: https://products.office.com/en-us/student/office-in-education
2. Find the section that says Get Office 365 for your entire school.
3. In the Office 365 A1 Free section, click on the Get started button
4. Click I'm a student  
5. Click Sign in
6. Log in: Students: starid@go.minnstate.edu and starid password Employees: starid@minnstate.edu and starid password
7. Click Sign in again
8. Click OK, got it
9. Click Install Office apps
10. Click Other install options (for other languages or the 64-bit version)
11. Run the online Office installer
12. Restart your computer to finish the installation
