How to log into Zoom from the Zoom Application and the Web Browser

Resolution or Steps 

From the Zoom Application

  1. Install Zoom/Zoom Outlook Add-on at Software Center if not already installed.
  2. “Software Center window open to the ‘Applications’ section. The left menu shows options: Applications, Updates, Operating Systems, Installation status, Device compliance, and Options. The main pane displays two required applications: ‘Zoom Outlook Plugin’ and ‘Zoom.’ Each app shows its icon, publisher, and version.”Use SSO to login
  3. Enter minnstate then click Continue
  4. “Zoom Cloud Meetings window titled ‘Sign In with SSO.’ A textbox displays the domain ‘minnstate’ followed by a dropdown showing ‘.zoom.us.’ Below the box is a link labeled ‘Link not know the company domain?’ and a blue ‘Continue’ button.   5. Password: Same as StarID password
  6. Click Launch Zoom

  11. Verify your Identity with Multi-factor authenticator : choose an authentication method.“Microsoft screen titled ‘Verify your identity.’ Options include: ‘Face, fingerprint, PIN or security key’; ‘Approve a request on my Microsoft Authenticator app’; ‘Use a verification code’; ‘Text +X XXXXXXXX41’; and ‘Call +X XXXXXXXX41.’ Links labeled ‘More information’ and ‘Are your verification methods current?’ appear below, with a ‘Cancel’ button at the bottom.”
  12. Enter the code.“Microsoft screen titled ‘Enter code.’ A message reads: ‘We texted your phone +X XXXXXXXX41. Please enter the code to sign in.’ Below is a field labeled ‘Code,’ followed by the link ‘Having trouble? Sign in another way’ and a ‘More information’ link. A blue ‘Verify’ button appears to the right. At the bottom is the message: ‘Trouble logging in? Contact your campus IT help desk’ with a support URL.”
  13. Checked the Don't show this again box and clicked yes.“Microsoft prompt asking ‘Stay signed in?’ with a partially hidden email address ending in ‘@minnstate.edu.’ Text explains this reduces the number of sign‑in requests. A checkbox labeled ‘Don’t show this again’ is selected. Two buttons at the bottom read ‘No’ and ‘Yes.’ A message below provides campus IT help desk information and a support URL.”
    You are now logged into Zoom from the Zoom Application and the Web Browser.
