Log In & Release a Print Job

Goal: Print something you already sent to the Follow-Me queue.

  1. Tap your ID badge on the card reader
    OR tap Log In and enter your StarID and password.
  2. Tap Print Release.
  3. Select your document(s).
  4. Tap Print.
  5. Tap Log Out when finished.
  • Good to know: You can release your job at any Toshiba printer on campus.
  • Good to know: If your job doesn’t show up immediately, wait 10–20 seconds.

Print from a Campus Computer

Goal: Send a document to the secure print queue, then release it at any printer.

  1. Open your document.
  2. Click FilePrint.
  3. Select the printer: FollowMe_Printer.
  4. Click Print.
  5. Go to any Toshiba printer and follow Log In & Release a Print Job.
  • Important: This printer only appears on Hennepin Tech-owned computers.

Scan to Email

Goal: Scan paper and send it to your email.

  1. Log in (badge or StarID/password).
  2. Tap Scan.
  3. Select Scan to Email.
  4. Place pages in the document feeder (top) or on the glass.
  5. Tap Start.
  • If you don’t see it, check your junk folder and wait a minute for delivery.

Scan to OneDrive

Goal: Scan paper and save it to your OneDrive.

  1. Log in (badge or StarID/password).
  2. Tap Scan.
  3. Select Scan to OneDrive.
  4. Place pages in the document feeder (top) or on the glass.
  5. Tap Start.
  • Large scans may take a few minutes to appear in OneDrive.

Copy a Document

Goal: Make paper copies.

  1. Log in (badge or StarID/password).
  2. Place pages in the document feeder (top) or on the glass.
  3. Tap Copy.
  4. Choose the number of copies.
  5. Tap Start.
  • Change settings (color, single/duplex) before pressing Start.

Use Labels or Cardstock (Bypass Tray)

Goal: Print on labels, cardstock, or other special paper.

  1. Open the bypass tray (side tray).
  2. Load the special paper.
  3. On the printer screen, select the correct paper size and paper type (for example: Labels or Cardstock).
  4. Print your document and release it at the printer.
  • Important: Do not load labels in the regular paper trays.
  • Important: Use laser-compatible labels only.
  • If the paper type isn’t selected correctly, you’re more likely to get jams or poor print quality.

Print in Color or Single-Sided

Goal: Change print settings before you click Print.

  1. In your document, click FilePrint.
  2. Select FollowMe_Printer.
  3. Click Printer Properties (or Preferences).
  4. Choose the settings you want (for example: Color, Single-sided).
  5. Click OK, then click Print.
  • If you don’t see the option you need, try opening Printer Properties again — Windows sometimes hides settings behind a second menu.

Common Problems

My print job doesn’t show up

  • Make sure you printed to FollowMe_Printer.
  • Wait 10–20 seconds, then refresh the print list (or log out and back in).
  • If it still doesn’t show, try printing again.

Login failed

  • Try typing your StarID/password instead of using your badge.
  • Check Caps Lock.
  • If your badge won’t work at multiple printers, contact IT.

Scan didn’t arrive

  • Check your junk folder (email).
  • Wait 2–3 minutes for delivery/sync.
  • Try the scan again.

FollowMe_Printer is missing from my computer

  1. Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
  2. Type: \\bpapercut\followme_printer
  3. Click OK.
  4. Wait a few seconds while Windows connects and installs the printer.
  • If prompted, click Install.
  • If you receive an error, restart your computer and try again.
  • This only works on Hennepin Tech-owned computers while on campus or connected to VPN.

    • When contacting Toshiba, provide the printer asset tag and room location.
  • Toner & Staples Information
    • Toner is automatically ordered when it reaches low levels (around 20%).
    • Replacement toner typically arrives about two weeks before the current cartridge runs out.
    • Staples are not on automatic order. If staples are empty, contact Toshiba or IT.
  • Quick tip: If something isn’t working, try logging out and logging back in first.
