General Information: Graduate Follow-Up New User Start-Up Tasks

New User/GRFU Manager Graduate Follow-Up Checklist: 

1. Access to ARSA 

2. Access to the Graduate Follow-Up SharePoint site 

3. Access to Graduate Follow-Up list serve 

Access to ARSA 

1. Review instructions on requesting security rights to the Graduate Follow-up (GRFU) module in ARSA.  If you will also be viewing/editing the email communications that are sent with the survey, request both GRF_PROCESSOR and CM_CREATOR  

2. Once you have security rights granted, ARSA itself can be accessed through your employee home page under Administrative Applications: https://eservices.minnstate.edu/employee/public/ 

3. Select “ARSA – Academic Records Student Affairs Application” then select your institution.  

Access to the Graduate Follow-Up SharePoint site 

1. The system office documentation for each component of the online GRFU module in ARSA is located on the ITS SharePoint site for graduate follow-up here: https://mnscu.sharepoint.com/sites/isrsproducts/SitePages/Topics.aspx?Topic=Graduate%20Follow-up%20Survey.   

2. You may click on the link and request access or email the system office GRFU service owner requesting access (currently Carrie Schneider Carrie.Schneider@minnstate.edu). 

3. The GRFU handbook is also posted as a link on that page. It has a lot of information, but it’s a bit outdated (ignore anything about ISRS uniface screens).  https://mnscu.sharepoint.com/sites/isrsproducts/Documents/GraduateFollowupHandbook.pdf  

4. Log in with your StarID@minnstate.edu and your StarID password.  On the GRFU Sharepoint site, there’s a recording of a September 26, 2018 meeting where best practices in GRFU data collection were discussed that you might find helpful.  

5. There’s also a recording of a training on GRFU in ARSA by Peter Her in system office IT from November 2020 (Peter is responsible for managing the GRFU application in ARSA across the system) available on the SharePoint site here. 

Access to Graduate Follow-Up list serve 

1. Email the Service Owner for GRFU and request that you be added to the GRFU listserv. 

2. You can utilize this listserv to ask questions of others within Minnesota State who are responsible for GRFU at their university and/or college.  You will also receive emails that are sent to this listserv.
